Doors Open DenverĀ is an annual two-day event that provides opportunities for residents and visitors to explore Denver’s architecture. In previous years, event attendees were stuck using a paper map as a guide to the different sites. For the 2017 event, and using Google Maps API V3 as a base, I built a mobile based map that allows users to navigate the site via their smartphones. A Desktop version was also created.
Tasks included:
- Digitized the attendee experience by replacing legacy print media with a high-performance, location-aware web application using the Google Maps API.
- Developed an immersive multimedia suite featuring integrated SoundCloud audio tours and real-time proximity alerts triggered via geospatial fencing.
- Enhanced user personalization by implementing a “Favorites” itinerary system and dynamic category filtering (e.g., Civic, Hospitality, Religious) for 50+ sites.
- Established a “Single Source of Truth” data architecture, ensuring real-time synchronization between the primary CMS and the mobile map interface.
- Walking directions.
- Implementation onto their current website.
