Doors Open Pittsburgh (http://doorsopenpgh.org/) is an annual two-day event that provides unique access to explore and experience a collection of iconic, and newly designed buildings in select neighborhoods of Pittsburgh..
Since they currently had all their sites listed on an existing website, I put together an API that would sync up the site data on their desktop site with the custom mobile site that I built. As they made changes to their desktop site, their mobile site would also be updated. no need to make changes in two places!
Features included:
- Color coding based on type of site.
- The ability to save a site as a favorite.
- Walking directions.
- Implementation of dynamic landing page on current desktop website.
- API based data linking. If a change was made to their regular site it would also show up on the mobile map thereby saving them from having to make changes in two places.
